Replacing Philips DLP Lamps
If you have a Philips big screen rear projection television set, you undoubtedly enjoy the high quality audio and video that the set provides. If you have owned your set for a few years, you have probably watched thousands of hours of programming and movies. You may have noticed that the picture is not quite as clear or crisp as it used to be. Don't be alarmed if you've noticed the picture quality degrading. This is very common and is, in fact, expected to happen.
You may be wondering why this is expected. The reason is really quite simple – Philips rear projection television sets work by using DLP lamps to help produce a high quality picture. DLP lamps will eventually go out on all Philips television sets. Most DLP lamps have a life of about 10,000 viewing hours. If you notice your picture going down in quality, it merely means that your DLP lamp has reached the end of its life cycle and you will need to get a replacement Philips DLP lamp.
